The village is located on high land on mountaneous area. The heavy rains of the cyclone, accompanied by strong winds, softened the mountainsides causing them to fall down, creating landslides that could rather be described as fast moving stone rivers. Those rivers then rushed through the village destroying everything on their way. Houses, cars and hundreds of people were buried underneath the stones or carried away with the water, some even as far as 10km away. The cyclone hit the village at night, so many people were already sleeping and did not have time to escape when the stones rolled over the village. Them whom were awake, saw their neighbours being flushed away in the lighting that occured when the stones hit each other while rolling down. Hitopo lives in the village by himself and was, together with a couple of other volunteers, the first ones to help when the disaster hit the village. Hitopo organized a group of people to help others out off the rubble, provided first aid, established an evacuation centre and helped villagers to identify their dead loved ones. The group of volunteers worked in the village alone for four days before the sky cleared enough for the help to fly in. Mika says the studio where he now stays was dirty when he moved in and he was not allowed to bring own furnitures. He brought anyway his sofa table in order to have at least something beautiful. Neighbours stopped talking to them and have done pretty much everything to force them to move out. Her landlord invaded her apartment and tried to force her sign papers stating that she is gonna move out.
